Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning! Today is Saturday, August 30, 2025. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen. Prayers for Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Quote from Saint Teresa of Avila. Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul. Meditation of the Day, an excerpt from The Story of a Soul, by Saint Therese of Lisieux, page 122. I realize as never before that the Lord is gentle and merciful. He did not send me this heavy cross until I could bear it. If he had sent it before, I am certain that it would have discouraged me. I desire nothing at all now except to love until I die of love. I am free. I am not afraid of anything, not even of what I used to dread most of all, a long illness which would make me a burden to the community. I am perfectly content I am not in the least afraid of living for a long time. I am ready to go on fighting. Scripture verse of the day. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 21 through 26. Saint of the Day The Saint of the Day for August 30th is Saint Fiacre. Saint Fiacre died in 670 AD. He was born in Ireland and was raised from childhood in an Irish monastery. There he grew in knowledge as well as holiness and became a priest. He retired to a hermitage to live in prayer and solitude, but men began to flock to him to imitate his way of life and become his disciples. To escape them, Fiacre left Ireland to establish a new Hermitage in France. He went to the bishop and asked for land to plant a garden to grow food as well as herbs for medicinal healing, a science which he studied in the monastery. The bishop agreed to give Fiacre as much land as he could entrench. Fiacre picked a plot of land and walked around its perimeter, dragging his shovel behind him. Wherever his spade touched the ground, the land was miraculously cleared and the soil became entrenched. St. Fiacre lived a life of great mortification in prayer, fasting, vigils, and manual labor in his garden. Disciples gathered around him again and soon formed a monastery. Saint Fiacre then built an oratory in honor of the Virgin Mary, a hospice in which he received strangers, and a cell for his own dwelling. His fame for performing miracles became widespread, and his garden became a place of pilgrimage for centuries for those seeking healing. Saint Fiacre is best known as the patron of gardeners, florists, and cab drivers. St. Fiaker, pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Saturday of the 21st week in Ordinary Time. A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians, chapter 4, verses 9-11. Brothers and sisters, on the subject of fraternal charity, you have no need for anyone to write you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another. Indeed, you do this for all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Nevertheless, we urge you, brothers and sisters, to progress and to aspire to live a tranquil life, to mind your own affairs and to work with your own hands as we instructed you. The Word of the Lord. Responsorial Psalm, Psalm 98. Let the rivers clap their hands, the mountains shout with them for joy. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice. But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master's money. After a long time, the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, His master said to him, Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you Then the one who had received two talents also came forward and said, Now then, take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Prayer to Saint Joseph O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us. Amen. Guardian Angel Prayer O angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy Hear and answer me. Amen. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of Hope Oh my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of Love Oh my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Act of Resignation to the Divine Will O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands, with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me, with its pains and griefs.
