Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning! Today is Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Amen. Quote from Saint Vincent de Paul. Meditation of the Day, an excerpt from I Believe in Love, a personal retreat based on the teaching of St. Therese of Lisieux, by Fr. Jean-C.J. d'Albé, pages 115-118. In order to give Jesus love for love, we must be souls of desire. of Earth, desires lie behind great successes. A businessman who wants to make money makes his plans and prepares his publicity in order to earn more. A painter who wants to succeed at the exhibition comes back to his painting and retouches it again and again. I knew a very great organist who, when he was preparing for the conservatory competition, spent entire nights at his pedalboard. In the morning, he couldn't even walk over to his bed. What What will men not do to gain public recognition? How many steps and sometimes how many compromises? Yet all that is for a temporary fortune, a fleeting enjoyment, for the glory of a moment, a puff of smoke. And you, called to partake in the intimate life of the Holy Trinity, to know God as He knows Himself, to love Him as He loves Himself. How sad it would be if you were merely to creep along in indifference, routine, terror, John chapter 7 verse 37 Revelations chapter 21 verse 6 Oh, tell Jesus that you thirst, that you thirst for him. The great commandment, you shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, Luke chapter 10, verse 27, is not reserved to Trappists or Carmelites. It is for everyone. Here again, it is the master who gave us the example. He himself, first of all, was the man of desires. With desire I have desired to eat this passion, Luke chapter 22, verse 15. Let your desire to love him, to be one with him, be the response to his own desire to be yours. The saints who have risen very high in heaven arrived there on the wings of great desires. St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi had a vision one day of the glory of St. Louis Gonzaga. She was astonished. How did this youth rise so high among the seraphim? It was revealed to her that he had attained this glory because, during his short life, he was consumed with the desire to love God and to be a saint. himself has inspired. Scripture verse of the day So we do not lose heart, even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen, but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verses 16 through 18. Saint of the Day The Saint of the Day for September 2nd is Saint Brocard. Saint Brocard died in 1231 AD. He was a Frenchman who traveled to the Holy Land to enter into religious life there. He was among the first group of hermits to establish a community of monks on Mount Carmel. Details of his life are scarce, but it is believed that Saint Brocard was the prior of the community after the death of Saint Berthold, who is considered to be the founder of the Carmelites. Ricard, as the new leader of the community, desired to formalize the monks' way of life on Mount Carmel. He requested that St. Albert, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, write and establish a rule of life for the community, which he then imposed on the group as their discipline. The rule of St. Albert established the Carmelites as a new religious order. St. Ricard was considered an expert on Islam and Eastern affairs and was to accompany St. Albert to the Fourth Lateran Council, were it not for Saint Albert's murder before the council convened. The council suppressed the creation of new religious orders, which put the Carmelites in a tenuous position as they were not approved by the Holy See prior to this new decree. Saint Ricard led the community through an uncertain period until they achieved special approval from the Holy Father. Saint Ricard, pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Tuesday of the 22nd week in Ordinary Time. A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians, chapter 5, verses 1-6 and 9-11. Concerning times and seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need for anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night, when people are saying, Peace and security, then sudden disaster comes, Like labor pains upon a pregnant woman and they will not escape. The Word of the Lord. Responsorial Psalm, Psalm 27 I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? The Lord is my life's refuge, of whom should I be afraid? I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living. One thing I ask of the Lord, this I seek, to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may gaze on the loveliness of the Lord and contemplate His temple. I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 4, verses 31-37. Jesus rebuked him and said, The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of Spiritual Communion Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us. Amen. Guardian Angel Prayer O angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. The Three Hail Marys Devotion Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. The third Hail Mary, in honor of God the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. O my mother, preserve my soul from mortal sin during this day. Amen. Memorare to the Blessed Virgin Mary Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy Hear and answer me. Amen. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Oh my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and a life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Oh my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the Poor Souls in Purgatory O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the blessed sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of Resignation to the Divine Will In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day.
