Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Tuesday, january sixth, 2026. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our supreme pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Quote from Saint Andre Basset If you ate only one meal a week, would you survive? It is the same for your soul. Nourish it with the Blessed Sacrament. Meditation of the Day an excerpt from A Year with Mary by Saint Alphonsus Ligori page three hundred thirty one. While other martyrs suffered by sacrificing their own lives, the Blessed Virgin suffered by sacrificing her son's life, a life that she loved far more than her own. So she not only suffered in her soul all that her son endured in his body, in addition, the sight of her son's torments brought more grief to her heart than if she had endured them all in her own person. No one can doubt that Mary suffered in her heart all the outrages that she saw inflicted on her beloved Jesus. Anyone can understand that the sufferings of children are also those of their mothers who witness them. Scripture verse of the day but as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation, my God will hear me. Micah chapter seven verse seven. Saint of the Day The Saint of the Day for january sixth is Saint Andre Baset. Saint Andre Baset lived between eighteen forty five and nineteen thirty seven. He was born the eighth of twelve children to a poor working class family in Quebec, Canada. He was weak and sickly from his birth. When he was nine, his father died in a lumber accident. When he was twelve, his mother died of tuberculosis. He then worked at various odd jobs until he entered the Congregation of the Holy Cross as a lay brother at age twenty five, serving as porter for Quebec's Notre Dame College for much of his life. Andre welcomed and prayed for the people he met, especially those who were ill or suffering. When an epidemic of sickness broke out, Andre demonstrated the gift of healing. He gave all the credit to Saint Joseph, to whom he had a great devotion. Over the years, when word of his sanctity spread, tens of thousands of people came to Baset for prayer and healing. He worked all day to receive them in person or answer their letters. When his order wanted to purchase land on Mount Royal, Basette buried Saint Joseph Medals on the property. The owners yielded, the land was sold to the order, and Andre worked to have a chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph built on the property. It is still in use to this day. When he died at the age of ninety one, it is said that a million people visited his coffin. Saint Andre Bassette, pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Tuesday After Epiphany A reading from the first letter of Saint John, chapter four verses seven through ten. Beloved, let us love one another because love is of God. Everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us. God sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as expiation for our sins. The Word of the Lord Responsorial Psalm Psalm seventy two Lord every nation on earth will adore you. O God, with your judgment endow the king, and with your justice the king's son. He shall govern your people with justice, and your afflicted ones with judgment. Lord every nation on earth will adore you. The mountain shall yield peace for the people, and the hills justice. He shall defend the afflicted among the people, save the children of the poor. Lord every nation on earth will adore you. Justice shall flower in his days and profound peace till the moon be no more. May he rule from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. Lord every nation on earth will adore you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark, chapter six verses thirty four forty four. When Jesus saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. By now it was already late, and his disciples approached him and said, This is a deserted place, and it is already very late. Dismiss them so that they can go to the surrounding farms and villages and buy themselves something to eat. He said to them in reply, give them some food yourselves, but they said to him, Are we to buy two hundred days wages worth of food and give it to them to eat? He asked them, How many loaves do you have? Go and see. And when they had found out they said, Five loaves and two fish. So he gave orders to have them sit down in groups on the green grass. The people took their places in rows by hundreds and by fifties. Then, taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied. And they picked up twelve wicker baskets full of fragments and what was left of the fish. Those who ate of the loaves were five thousand men. The Gospel of the Lord Prayer of Spiritual Communion.
