Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Friday, june nineteenth, twenty twenty six. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Meditation of the Day, an excerpt from Everyday Meditations by Saint John Henry Cardinal Newman, page 103. O my God, you and you alone are all wise and all knowing. You know, you have determined everything that will happen to us from first to last. You have ordered things in the wisest way, and you know what will be my lot year by year until I die. You know how long I have to live, you know how I shall die. You have precisely ordained everything, sin accepted. Every event of my life is the best for me that it could be, for it comes from you. You bring me on year by year, by your wonderful providence, from youth to age, with the most perfect wisdom and with the most perfect love. Scripture verse of the day Beloved, we are God's children now. What we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. Saint of the day The Saint of the Day for june nineteenth is Saint Juliana Falconeri. Saint Juliana Falconeri was born in Florence, Italy in twelve seventy. Her family was wealthy and active in the affairs of the city. When Giuliana's father died, her uncle, Alessio Falconeri, helped take care of her. Alessio had dedicated his life to God and was one of the founders of the servants of Mary, the Servites. His vocation had a profound effect on Giuliana, and she too began to wear the habit and serve the poor. At the young age of sixteen, she became a servite tertiary. After her mother died in 1304, Juliana gathered like-minded women, wrote a rule, and founded the Sisters of the Third Order of Servites. Juliana and her sisters offered fasting and many sacrifices in atonement for the violence that was common in Florence during the Middle Ages. Towards the end of her life, Juliana became ill and was unable to eat solid food. Eventually she was unable to swallow any food. This made it impossible for her to receive the Holy Eucharist. As her death drew near, a priest came to administer last rites and give her viaticum. Juliana asked for a corporal to be spread across her chest, and the blessed sacrament was placed there close to her heart. When Juliana died, the sacred host disappeared. On Juliana's chest, at the place where the Blessed Sacrament had rested, appeared a cross similar to the one that had been on the host. The servites continue to include this symbol of the Eucharistic miracle on their religious habit. Saint Juliana Falconeri died in thirteen forty one and was canonized by Pope Clement XII in seventeen thirty seven. Saint Juliana Falconeri, pray for us. Readings for Holy Mass for Friday of the eleventh week in ordinary time a reading from the second book of Kings, chapter eleven, verses one through four, nine through eighteen and twenty. When Athalia, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she began to kill off the whole royal family. But Jehoshaba, daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash his son and spirited him away along with his nurse from the bedroom where the princes were about to be slain. She concealed him from Athaliah, and so he did not die. For six years he remained hidden in the temple of the Lord, while Atheliah ruled the land. But in the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the captains of the Carrions and of the guards. He had them come to him in the temple of the Lord, exacted from them a sworn commitment, and then showed them the king's son. The captains did just as Jehoida the priest commanded. Each one with his men, both those going on duty for the Sabbath and those going off duty that week, came to Jehoida the priest. He gave the captains King David's spears and shields which were in the temple of the Lord, and the guards with drawn weapons, lined up from the southern to the northern limit of the enclosure, surrounding the altar and the temple on the king's behalf. Then Jehoadah led out the king's son and put the crown and the insignia upon him. They proclaimed him king and anointed him, clapping their hands and shouting, Long live the king. Athaliah heard the noise made by the people and appeared before them in the temple of the Lord. When she saw the king standing by the pillar as was the custom, and the captains and trumpeters near him, with all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets, she tore her garments and cried out Treason, treason. Then Jehoida, the priest, instructed the captains in command of the force, bring her outside through the ranks. If anyone follows her, he added, let him die by the sword. He had given orders that she should not be slain in the temple of the Lord. She was led out forcibly to the horse gate of the royal palace where she was put to death. Then Jehoidah made a covenant between the Lord as one party and the king and the people as the other, by which they would be the Lord's people, and another covenant between the king and the people. Thereupon all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and demolished it. They shattered its altars and images completely, and slew Maton, the priest of Baal before the altars. Jehoida appointed a detachment for the temple of the Lord. All the people of the land rejoiced and the city was quiet, now that Athaliah had been slain with the sword at the royal palace. The Word of the Lord Responsorial Psalm Psalm one hundred thirty two The Lord has chosen Zion for his dwelling. The Lord swore to David a firm promise which he will not withdraw, your own offspring I will set upon your throne. The Lord has chosen Zion for his dwelling. If your sons keep my covenant and the decrees which I shall teach them, their sons too forever shall sit upon your throne. The Lord has chosen Zion for his dwelling. Jesus said to his disciples, Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal, but store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal, for where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. The lamp of the body is the eye, if your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness, and if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be? The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of Spiritual Communion In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Morning Glory Consecration Prayer. Mary, my mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph. O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us, amen. Guardian Angel Prayer. O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls, amen. The three Hail Mary's Devotion The first Hail Mary, in honor of God the Father. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Act of Faith. O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of hope. O my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of love. O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the poor souls in purgatory. O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of resignation to the divine will. O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me with its pains and griefs.
