Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day. Good morning. Today is Monday, june twenty second, twenty twenty six. Please join me in praying the morning offering prayer and prayers for our Holy Father. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the holy intentions of the Holy Father this month, amen. Prayers for the Holy Father Almighty and everlasting God, have mercy upon thy servant, Pope Leo XV, our Supreme Pontiff, and direct him according to thy loving kindness in the way of eternal salvation, that of thy gift he may ever desire that which is pleasing unto thee, and may accomplish it with all his might, through Christ our Lord, amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Quote from Saint Theodore Gerin For true hearts there is no separating ocean, or rather, God is their ocean in whom they meet and are united. They love and lose themselves in him and in each other. Meditation of the day, an excerpt from the School of Christ crucified by Father Ignatius of the Sight of Christ, pages two hundred and twenty six through two hundred twenty seven. Jesus Christ did not think the sovereign beatitude and glory of heaven too dearly purchased at the price of unspeakable tortures, and by suffering his sacred flesh to be mangled by nails, thorns, and scourges. Great indeed must be the value of that which cost the Son of God so dear, and yet we esteem it so little as to be even ready to renounce our claim to it, as in fact so many of us do, for the sake of some wretched pleasure or despicable interest. Ye blind, deluded children of men, contemplate the wounds of your crucified God, and see in what manner the gates of the kingdom of glory have been opened to you. See what it has cost him to place you in possession of it, and understand, if possible, how infinite a benefit was bestowed upon you by the Son of God when He purchased for you heaven, which you had lost by sin. Enter in spirit into these sacred wounds, and you will comprehend the value and sublimity of that eternal felicity which they have acquired for you, and you will learn to detach your heart from the earth and from creatures, so as to place all your affections and desires upon heaven. Scripture verse of the day give ear to my words, O Lord, understand my sighing, attend to the sound of my cry, my king and my God. For to you I will pray, Lord, in the morning you will hear my voice, in the morning I will plead before you and wait. Psalm five, verses one through four. Saint of the day The Saint of the Day for june twenty second is Saint Thomas More. Saint Thomas More lived between fourteen seventy eight and fifteen thirty five. He was born in London, the son of a lawyer and judge. He was educated in the finest schools and became a brilliant English statesman. He served in Parliament, on the King's Council as a diplomat, and in many other prominent positions in public administration. He was highly esteemed for his unfailing moral integrity, sharpness of mind, humor, and extraordinary learning. He was also a faithful Catholic, a loving husband, and a devoted father. For his great abilities he was promoted by his friend King Henry VIII to the high office of Lord Chancellor, second in position to the king. He resigned from this post when the king, in open defiance of church teaching, sought to divorce his wife in order to marry another woman and to declare himself sovereign of the church in England. Thomas Moore, a defender against heresy, refused to condone the king's actions. After trying unsuccessfully to persuade his friend to approve of what he was doing, King Henry VIII imprisoned Moore in the Tower of London. At his trial, Moore testified boldly for church autonomy over the state, for the authority of the Pope as head of the Church, and for the indissolubility of marriage in the eyes of God. He was eventually condemned and beheaded, dying as a martyr for the Catholic faith. Thomas Moore is the patron saint of statesmen, politicians, lawyers, civil servants, and large families. Saint Thomas Moore, pray for us. Devotion of the Month June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most popular Catholic devotions. Although it was beloved in previous centuries, Jesus appeared to Saint Margaret Mary Allocoque in sixteen seventy three, showing her a vision of the now famous image of his sacred heart, surrounded by flames. He said to her, My heart is so full of love for men that it can no longer contain the flames of its burning love. I must discover to men the treasures of my heart and save them from perdition. She was given the special mission to spread devotion to his sacred heart throughout the church. Jesus gave Saint Margaret Mary many promises associated with this devotion, and requested that a feast day in honor of his sacred heart be instituted on the Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi. In eighteen fifty six, the feast of the sacred heart was spread to the universal church, and in eighteen ninety nine, Pope Leo XIII solemnly consecrated all mankind to the sacred heart of Jesus, calling it the great act of his pontificate. Readings for Holy Mass for Monday of the twelfth week in ordinary time. A reading from the second book of Kings, chapter seventeen, verses five through eight, thirteen through fifteen and eighteen. Shalmaneser, King of Assyria, occupied the whole land and attacked Samaria, which he besieged for three years. In the ninth year of Hoshea, King of Israel, the king of Assyria took Samaria and deported the children of Israel to Assyria, setting them in Hallah at the Haber, a river of Gozan, and the cities of the Medes. This came about because the children of Israel sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up from the land of Egypt, from under the domination of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and because they venerated other gods. They followed the rights of the nations whom the Lord had cleared out of the way of the children of Israel and the kings of Israel, whom they set up. And though the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and seer, give up your evil ways and keep my commandments and statutes, in accordance with the entire law which I enjoined on your fathers, and which I sent you by my servants the prophets. They did not listen, but were as stiff necked as their fathers, who had not believed in the Lord their God. They rejected his statutes, the covenant which he had made with their fathers, and the warnings which he had given them, till, in his great anger against Israel, the Lord put them away out of his sight, only the tribe of Judah was left. The Word of the Lord. Responsorial Psalm Psalm sixty Help us with your right hand, O Lord, and answer us. O God, you have rejected us and broken our defenses, you have been angry, rally us. Help us with your right hand, O Lord, and answer us. You have rocked the country and split it open. Repair the cracks in it, for it is tottering. You have made your people feel hardships, you have given us stupefying wine. Help us with your right hand, O Lord, and answer us. Have not you, O God, rejected us so that you go not forth, O God with our armies? Give us aid against the foe, for worthless is the help of men. Help us with your right hand, O Lord, and answer us. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew, chapter seven verses one through five. Jesus said to his disciples, Stop judging that you may not be judged, for as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, let me remove that splinter from your eye while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first, then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye. The Gospel of the Lord. Prayer of Spiritual Communion In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Morning Glory Consecration Prayer. Mary, my mother, I give myself totally to you as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. Amen. Prayer to Saint Joseph. O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit. We ask this through thy powerful intercession. Holy Family, pray for us, amen. Guardian angel prayer. O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. The three Hail Mary's Devotion The first Hail Mary, in honor of God the Father. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. The second Hail Mary, in honor of God the Son. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. The third Hail Mary, in honor of God, the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. O my mother, preserve my soul from mortal sin during this day. Amen. Memori to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Act of Faith O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. In this faith I intend to live and die. Amen. Act of hope. O my God, relying on your almighty power, infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace, and the life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of love. O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen. Prayer for the poor souls in purgatory. O gentle heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in purgatory, have mercy on them. Be not severe in thy judgment, but let some drops of thy precious blood fall upon the devouring flames. Merciful Savior, send thy angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light, and peace. Amen. Act of resignation to the divine will. O Lord my God, from this moment do I accept from thy hands with burning love and sincere contrition, with a calm and willing disposition, whatsoever death thou shalt choose to send me with its pains and griefs. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Starting the morning off with God is the key to strength and success in your day.
